Day 22 – Home

7823 miles.

24 states.

22 days.

We got home on Saturday at around 1:30 in the afternoon; decided to take I-80 instead of the Turnpike (since we’ve driven that stretch of road a lot in the last four years visiting Max at Pitt). I’m glad we did. I hadn’t done the I-80 route through Pennsylvania for a long time, and it showed me how beautiful our home state is. The highway winds through rolling, lush, green hills and small mountains that are—yet again as I’ve discovered throughout this entire trip—unlike everything else in this ever-changing, all-encompassing, incredibly diverse country.

I’m going to let things sink in a bit … gather my thoughts … and then I’ll make one more post and wrap up the Road Trip Blog. For now, all I can say is what a ride.

Max. Laura & David, this has been a fun journey to watch through the blog. Please, if you need a good mechanic let me know. I saw the picture of all your stuff piled up and I noticed that you started the 2nd paragraph with the fact that you wanted the whole trip to “sink in”. Really? Didn’t you mean to say: “I’m going to let things sTink in a bit…”. Please let me know when corrected.

I hope Kieran, Leslie and I get to do the same in the future! All family vacation should be this fun.

We have greatly enjoyed reading all of your entries on your blog and being able to vicariously travel along with you. Your stay with us in Seattle was super special to the entire Seattle contingent.

Thanks for sharing and taking the time to stop by.

Love, Don and Liz

It is great you made it home safe and sound. Now sit back and let all the memories flood over you! What an amazing experience! Still hoping for the day when Tommy and I can do it again. If you ever want to scrapbook all those memories I’m the gal to see!
