Day 6 – Zion

Continuing with more photos … this time Zion.

It was a tall order to do Bryce and Zion in one day … but we did it. Yes, I’m sure we missed a lot, but what we saw was breathtaking.

Zion is so much more than I remember from thirty years ago. It is monumental. The drive in on Route 9 … winding through goliath slabs of rocks … one turn after the other is a revelation … feeling so small in the shadows of these soldiers of stone. What an honor to be an insignificant human in the midst of the canyons of Zion.

Astonishing.

Oh … and of course to bring us down to Earth, Laura and I spent an hour and a half a the laundromat at the end of the day.

Oh, how you make me so jealous! I loved Zion and Bryce and I think we did them both on the same day as well. I’m already thinking about wanting to go on the second Gilbert Roadtrip. By the way, jealous of all of it but the time at the laundromat.
